2020’s Virtual film festival was a huge success!

Thank you for joining us, learning with us, & supporting us! We hope to see you next year!

A big thank you to our Eagle County community and beyond, as 2020 marks our 5th annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival! With social distancing measures in place, our event has shifted to an online format, meaning you can stream all 10 of the films from the comfort of your own couch! We are using an online platform that you can access from your computer, smartphone, tablet or smart TV.

6:30 PM | Virtual Event

Door Prizes | Silent Auction | Live Q&A

Tickets for this year look a little different: they are by donation only! This event raises critical funds for our educational programming, but it also acts as a community event to bring people together. The Watershed Council recognizes the importance of that in the present circumstance – we wanted to make sure that anyone anywhere can attend, whether they are able to give $1 or $100. For every $20 donated, you will be entered to win some of our door prizes ranging from a YETI hat to Vail Retail gift cards!

Make your tax-deductible contribution here to gain access to the 5th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival!

Join in on the Silent Auction!

The event still features a silent auction, using the 32 Auctions platform. You can view some of thef awesome items below, or check out our auction page to see them all and start bidding! Bidding will begin April 29 at noon and close at 8 PM on May 6th.

This year, our flagship item is a YETI Tundra Haul Cooler! A big thanks to all of our silent auction sponsors for making this possible: Vail Resorts Epic Promise, Fjallraven, The Inn at Riverwalk, YETI and the Hooper Family.

Consider supporting our Land & Rivers Businesses! We are working on some movie-viewer packages to enjoy during the films. Grab your ticket for entry here and check out the list of participating businesses!

Can’t join day-of? You can watch the recorded event until May 11th.

Our 2020 Flagship Film: Water is Life

Local sponsors helped to make this possible, so a big thank you to those who gave their support for the 5th Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival!

Our community is inextricably connected to the outdoors through economic, recreational, and aesthetic ties. In order to celebrate and grow awareness of education, scientific advancements, policy issues, and more worldwide, we annually host a local Wild & Scenic Film Festival in Edwards.

The event has been a big success and has a loyal following. It’s a locally-oriented approach to connect to global topics and issues.

The film festival is family-friendly and has grown to include a silent auction, door prizes, information about Watershed Council upcoming events, and more. We are exceedingly grateful to our local sponsors, who make this event possible.

With the collaboration of the Eagle River Watershed Council committee, made up of board members, staff, and folks from the community, we hand-pick the films being shown from a wide array curated by partner organization SYRCL, which hosts the flagship event. We do our very best to choose a variety of films – some with local interest, some “feel good” films, some “call-to-action” films, and some that make us feel connected as a global community.

The Creation of SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival

SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival inspires environmental activism and a love for nature–through film. Wild & Scenic Film Festival shares an urgent call to action, encouraging festival-goers to learn more about what they can do to save our threatened planet. SYRCL partners with groups, like Eagle River Watershed Council who are working to protect and restore the important places in their communities. Globally, the events generate critical funds and increase awareness for grassroots environmental causes.
